How This Works!

Recently, we have seen some confusion as to how transferring of firearms through an FFL works. Several people have purchased firearms online through places like GunBroker.com, Guns.com, etc, and have been confused about just what an FFL does for them.

When you purchase a gun online, the gun cannot be shipped directly to you. It must be transferred through a Federal Firearms Licensee. That's where we come in.

Many of the online gun stores already have a copy of our FFL on file and they have a list of preferred FFLs from which you may choose. By selecting us from their list, they will then start the process of packing and shipping your new firearm to us to facilitate the transfer to you. If they do not have a list or do not have a current copy of our FFL, use the contact form on this site to request that we send them a copy. Make sure that you have good contact information, i.e. email address or fax number, for the seller so that we may send them a copy of our current license. Also, please include your name, what item you are purchasing and an order number, if any. You may also call us directly but the best way to get through to us is via the contact form.

After you purchase a gun from an online store, it is shipped to an FFL of your choice. That FFL is not associated in any way with the gun seller. The seller does not collect any fees for the transfer of the gun to you by the FFL

When your firearm arrives, we go to work signing it in and starting the necessary paperwork to facilitate your transfer. Depending on the time of day of the delivery, your firearm(s) may not be available for pickup that day. (Sometimes delivery services do not deliver until late in the day.) We will contact you via the contact information provided to us by the seller when your new firearm is ready for transfer.

There are fees charged by the FFL for doing the transfer and the background, if required, in order for you to legally gain possession of your firearm(s).

Our fees are as follows:

$25.00 per firearm if you hold a current Texas LTC (License to Carry)

$30.00 per firearm if you do not hold a current Texas LTC because then, a background check MUST be conducted.

We have two of the least expensive FFL fees around.

If you contact us and want us to find a specific type of gun for you and we do find it, we will give you a price plus tax and we will not charge you a transfer fee if you buy it from us.

We hope this clears up any confusion about how to legally obtain a firearm.
